This year will mark 10 years of missing Nathan. 10 years of working to honor him and keeping his memory alive. 10 years of YOU helping us help others. 10 years of countless lives helped through the work of The Nathan Chris Baker Foundation.

The past 10 years have humbled us knowing that we are surrounded by family, friends, co-workers, community, strangers…..that have touched our lives and the lives of others. We THANK you for walking with us and supporting us as we grieve Nathan’s death and rise up to support and inspire others. No words could ever explain what you mean to us.

Since 2012, our family and foundation have been waiting for this ultimate project. We’ve talked about it a thousand times. We’ve looked for land and we’ve prayed that one day the right opportunity would present itself.

We have searched and waited for a project that would really cement Nathan’s legacy in the Carroll County Community. A project that would be instantly identified and related to his life and memory. Your donations have helped NCBF support so many great community projects over the years but we continued to seek out the perfect opportunity…..we wanted to see a playground that could be “Nate’s Place” become a reality.

So here it is...we are beyond excited, honored, and grateful to announce that NCBF has agreed to partner with Carroll County Recreation & Parks to build a DESTINATION PLAYGROUND at FREEDOM PARK in Sykesville, Maryland that will honor Nathan!!! #natesplace

NCBF has agreed to donate at least $100,000 towards this amazing project at Freedom Park and CC Recreation & Parks has an anonymous donor willing to donate up to $200,000 of matching funds towards the playground equipment and installation! The scale of this project is incredible! The more we raise - the bigger the playground! This obstacle course type playground will be a one of a kind experience here in Carroll County, MD and we are fortunate, excited, and grateful to be part of the project.

We know that we cannot do this alone. We needed your help in 2012 to build the playground at Mechanicsville Elementary and we need your help again! We need everyone to help us raise at least $100,000 for the new destination playground, and our final playground project, at Freedom Park in Nate’s memory!

With Love,
Justin and Katie Baker
